The sky was completely grey when I got out of my tent this morning. I hiked for the first hour eyeing the clouds wondering if this was going to be my day and hoping I wasn’t walking into the rain. I was ?

It rained from 8am – 1:30pm, and yes, it was cold! ? This was my first time actually walking in that much rain on the trail. There wasn’t any lightening, and I didn’t want to waste the day in my tent waiting for it to end, so I walked right through it. After a couple of hours of rain I was soaked to the bone, but I just kept telling myself it won’t be like this forever. The sun will come out eventually!

This just also happened to be the segment where you have to cross 4 avalanche fields. Basically there are tons of downed trees that you have to climb over, under and around to keep moving forward on the trail. So I got to go through this adult jungle gym in the rain ? Let’s just say I was relieved when I got through that last one!

It’s actually beautiful how the rain turns everything a deeper shade of itself. I enjoyed seeing the landscape from this new perspective.

That being said, I was still thrilled when the clouds parted and the sun came through for my last hour of hiking ?
