Beautiful day for a 17 mile hike! But damn that first 12.2 miles to the summit ridge got me good. I just kept telling myself, “Just put one foot in front of the other. You’ll get there eventually!”

Georgia Pass was epic! 360° views of gorgeous mountain ranges and valleys, makes every painful step totally worth it.

After the pass, my final 5 miles were downhill. For the first 3, I thought I was invincible! I got this! I should try to do TEN more miles… I can do anything! Then the fatigue smacked me in the face and I seriously thought those last 2 miles would NEVER end!

Am I the only one that does that? So often I take the current snapshot of my life, and think, “It’s going to be like this forever.” Which is awesome when you take a snapshot of the good times, but really sucks when you take one of the bad times. It can be debilitating. Because either you have unrealistic expectations about how life should be all the time OR you get depressed thinking nothing will ever get better.

I’m trying to learn to live in the moment and to understand that it won’t be like this forever… and that’s ok ♥️
