Today I feel accomplished.
We hiked in 10 miles to Monarch Crest, mostly finishing the Collegiate West portion of the trail. This was the section I was most nervous about, because it’s consistently at high altitude, had a lot of climbs and can be dangerous in a thunderstorm. But I was extremely blessed with good weather and we crushed those 78 miles while constantly being amazed at the beauty that surrounded me.
The gratitude and exhaustion were overwhelming at times, but I tried to take every opportunity I could to stop, take a moment and just be there experiencing it all.
Now I’m taking a zero in Salida with Grant. Resting my body, washing up, and planning the second half of this grand adventure ?
