I was a little slow getting up this morning. 1) because I was a little nervous about the 3000ft elevation gain today, and 2) there were people playing loud music at a cabin close by from 10:30pm until 4am! ? And I mean it was LOUD! Why on earth do people come to nature to just ignore it? I will never understand this!

Anyways, I decided to go into this day with a “slow and steady wins the race” mentality. Go slow on the inclines and keep a steady pace. It really paid off! I made pretty good time, which was good thing too, because I just barely got my tent up before it started to rain ? Win!

After the rain stopped, I got out of my tent and realized I pitched my tent kinda close to a pile of bear poop ? luckily it’s not fresh, but I’m pretty sure that means they’re in the area. I should be fine though. All my food is in a bear cannister 100ft from my tent, so there’s nothing for them here ?

My campsite is at 10,413 ft elevation. I think that means it’s gonna get CHILLY tonight ? Definitely going to be layering up!
